November 17, 2023: interview update

Friday, November 17, 2023 · by kathy howe
Sam reported 3 things about his Georgetown interview: 1) she said he should write children’s books and keep a journal because his stories are very interesting and unique ❤️2) she said he has a unique perspective and seems very grounded ❤️3) she spent an hour with him instead of her usual 30 mins.❤️
Whether or not he gets in, this is a success. Yay!
I think the children’s book idea is a great one too!  So did his team at clinic yesterday. They said they have a lot of need for patient perspectives  on transplant and leukemia.
Maybe it’s a post application/pre college project for him?  Aunt Suchi, we may be calling you 👀❤️

Great news about the interview! And yes, 100% agree that writing a book is an amazing idea, especially from the perspective of a teen.

Go Sam! Georgetown should be tripping over their own feet to get him there.

It was never a community he wanted to join, but a wonderful opportunity for him to help ease kids through the gauntlet of treatment.
