October 4, 2022: Vomit update

Tuesday, October 4, 2022 · by kathy howe

Yesterday was a very good day overall: Sam kept didn’t vomit until 11:30 pm when he was going to bed. He also had better energy and was up and about the house more.  We had a nice time watching the History Channel’s Alone and it was fun to hear him laugh and make jokes.

Since he went to bed late, I only had to rouse him at 6 am for his morning dose and then he went back to sleep.

And this morning — NO VOMIT!

And he went to his Chinese class  (Zoom) — first class since 9/22 so hooray for that!

Tomorrow is a big day with an early start:

8:30 am Pre-Calc

10:30: Physics

1:30 : Clinic

Evening: possible admission to hospital for round 2

Hopefully the dosage will be better this time and and anti-nausea meds will keep him ahead of the vomit.

And this weekend, a friend from Camp CAMP, the summer camp where he volunteered this summer in the TX Hill Country, is coming out to visit for her fall break.  Yay for friends!

Thanks again for all comments to these vomit update posts — I appreciate the levity. It has helped tremendously to get through this suckage.

Onward!

way to go, Sam. Suckage truly sucks, doesn’t it?

Im not sure suckage is the appropriate descriptor for vomit. Perhaps blowage or repulsion or expulsion. Whatever the phrase, it does stink!

So far I have loved everything you have been doing… But pre-Calc at 8:30 in the morning? Seriously?

(Just kidding… I actually really enjoyed math/pre-Calc/Calc).

Before the methotrexate (9/22) , he was waking up at 7:30 am no problem. Now, he’s finding himself in a more traditional teen sleep pattern. I may see if his math teacher has a later slot (it’s through Fusion Academy so has some flexibility).

We LOVE Camp CAMP! So many of my kiddos' friends have worked there over the years. Yay for no vomit and friend visits.

Yay no vomit! Although...I'm sure there's a vomit-based physics problem Sam could put together for that 10:30 class.

We are here for all the vomit stories, for sure! Not quite as good as the projectile poop stories from our diaper changing days, but still pretty good ;)
