October 30, 2022: Not feeling that great
Sunday, October 30, 2022 · by kathy howe
Sam isn’t feeling that great this round. He came home in #GOAT timing, but he’s also caught that nasty cold that’s being going around Palo Alto. Thankfully it hasn’t resulted in a fever, otherwise he’d have to go in again, but it’s taken the starch out of him.
Low energy is challenging too as it means he doesn’t get out of bed much. It slows down everything and I think it bums him out, understandably, as he can’t muster what he needs to do the things he wants to do (and the things he has on his “to do” list either). And he’s not eating much either. And his nose is stuffed up 😣
I’m sure this is “just” another dip in the ups and downs of chemotherapy. Plus the cold. And it sure beats the draining experience that Round 1 was with all the vomit — but I do find myself hoping for a few more days like last week when he was up and about and going to hangouts and classes and making himself meals in the kitchen.
He did come down last night to watch TV with me and John so that was a highlight. Yay!
Zack has been having a tough couple of days, too, which is also not surprising. They are draining in a different sort of way. So it’s been a bit of a bumpier road for us — but we soldier on.
Thank you all for your comments and hearts and good vibes and prayers and energy. We take it all in and it lifts us all up.
