All good. Just waiting.

Still in the hospital for a day or maybe a few. Signs are all good -- Sam's started eating better, he's feeling good & not nauseous, getting more energetic, and even after the antibiotics have been turned off, no fevers. He's got some skin rashes that are GVHD, but no sign that it's in his GI system. Team here wants to monitor another day or two to see what a couple of numbers do, then make a call on whether to get him started on a short blast of steroids to treat what may be becoming GI GVHD or not -- then they'll send him home. Not sure yet whether that'll be tomorrow, Friday or maybe over the weekend -- just depends on how his counts look over the next 24+ hours.
But! Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Sam's not hooked up to anything anymore, but is confined to the room (stem cell transplant protocol).
He's passing the time by finishing up a few levels on Super Luigi World with me, turning our television watching into a competitive sport (watching old Master Chefs, but drafting our teams and getting points for how well they do), teaching Kathy how to play chess, and doing some games of Civilization 6 with me. And he attended his first college info session via Zoom today too 😀
Hopefully home tomorrow, but in any event, I think not too long. I was counting and I think he's been inpatient on the ward for ~85 days over the past 11 months -- not a super fun place to be, but it's a really well run place and they take good care of us. We get a little raggedy by the end of a week+ stay like this, but winnable, as Sam likes to say.
