Everything went as we expected today and Sam is back at home. They even gave him a funny “Jiffy Pop” hat to wear during the surgery to keep his head warm (we’re not really sure — even the nurses were wondering why he had it?) and he actually wore it for the procedure! It was silver and puffy — can’t show you a photo though b/c you know……teen 🤷🏼‍♀️.

They also gave him a heart bandage to cover the place where the Hickman came out ❤️

The best way to celebrate his 1 year diagnosis anniversary (which is today) is to have this line removed: a tribute to his body and its strength and ability to kick leukemia to the curb.
