Sam declared himself as “GOAT Leukemia Patient” as Nurse Jess came in and celebrated his methotrexate level going from 96 at 23 hours to 0.44 at 42 hours — the earliest time he can go home.  And he had to get lower than 0.5 so BOOM!  Take that leukemia!

I’m also going to give a shout out to his kidneys which worked overtime clearing the medicine and to Sam getting up and going for a walk this morning, as movement helps move the methotrexate out of his system.

Upon hearing the news, Sam was immediately up and out of bed and asking to be de-accessed (his port closed) and telling me to pack up — no time for blogging!  So I took a wagon full of our stuff to the car and then came back to blog as I am pretty sure that processing his discharge will take a bit (Update: discharge was the fastest it’s ever been! I asked Jess if she could be on service for Sam’s next 42 hour check 💪🏼).
