November 26, 2022: RSV = No Bueno
The good news is RSV hit while we were already grounded from Hawaii. The bad news is RSV is no fun. But it’s not horrible either. Lots of coughs and sore throats. Zack got a fever. Thankfully Sam did not (since 100.4 gets him a direct ticket to the hospital). The good news is that if he did get a fever, they know what caused it and can treat it easily (the difficulty is when they don’t know the origins of the fever and have to figure it out on the fly).
Sam got tested last Saturday 11/19 while he was in the hospital for RSV as he presented with symptoms so they know that he has it — probably a result of going to class on Wednesday 😬 since he technically was neutropenic then and he probably shouldn’t have been at school but….. 🤷🏼♀️. #teensgottateen
It was such a good experience for him and we got grounded from HI anyways, independent of RSV, so I think it was a risk worth taking.
And now we all have some version of it. Sigh. But manageable.
We are still making this stay-cation into a fun time, all be it punctuated by coughs.
And Milo is living his best life. Still. 🐕🦺

Some of the chemo medicines make his neutrophils drop precipitously and others not so much. And each warrior responds differently, of course.
