We all had a great weekend — it was nice to have our normal slate of soccer, time with friends, and time together — plus the Harvest Festival at Zack’s school plus a concert for me and my sister at the Mountain Winery — BONUS —- and NO VOMIT. 💪🏼

Sam hung out with his SAT friend on Friday and then hung out with some of da boyz on Friday night. Saturday he volunteered at Zack’s school’s Harvest Festival with his BFF Alec selling t-shirts. Sam also went to that school so got to see his former coach and some other old friends. He even ate vegetarian chili?!?!?!?! (Shout out to Alec who is a *much* more flexible eater — thanks Alec!). Then he went to Alec’s soccer game and hung out at Alec’s house for the evening. Sunday he hung out with his friend K and designed a cool pair of Nikes (there is a non-profit that pays for kids with cancer to design their own pair of shoes: Project Outrun.  “I’m not sick by my shoes are!” Is their tag line.). Then he and K came to Zack’s soccer game which was a nail biter! they should’ve won as they had *so many* shots that **just missed** but the end score was 1-1. Great game. Zack played tough as did all the boys. 

And then we all went to the Nash Bash Fall Edition to celebrate their 2 older kids’ birthdays (Adam, the dad, has been a long time friend and went to Stanford with John and Carolyn used to work with John at Apple in the late 1990s so we’ve known her a long time too ❤️).  Sam was heard to say “How can Jacob be 18?!!?!” Ummmmm……YOU will be 18 in 9 months my dear. 😮 Was great to see many friends there and Zack learned how to play roulette and blackjack. Thanks *a lot* Carolyn and Adam. 

And then Sam ended the day by taking his friend K out for a birthday dinner and watching TV with me and John.  Did I mention there was NO VOMIT ALL WEEKEND?!?!?!  Yup. Achievement Unlocked: New record: Day 12.  And he’s ready for a normal week of life and classes and doing what teens do. 

Oh, and Sam and I sang Fountains of Wayne and Billy Joel, his choices, in the car, him driving, me living my best life 😊,  on the way home from the Nash Bash. So. Much. Fun.

Love, love, love weekends like this.  Take that leukemia!  Medicine takes many forms and this weekend was medicine for all of us. ❤️
