No hospital this week
Sam's white blood cells didn't make counts, so no admission today for the next round of chemo (the first of the Consolidation phase (Induction (10-12 weeks) -> Consolidation (~10 weeks) -> Continuation (~100 weeks)).
Everything looking good otherwise, he continues to respond as well as we could possibly hope for in basically every category -- we'll just do the hospital stay starting probably Monday night instead of tonight.
Gives us a chance to do another procedure called apheresis tomorrow (and maybe Saturday) to extract and save some of his healthy T-cells, in case we need them down the line for CAR-T therapy. Bummer to spend another 4-6 hours in a procedure, and hopefully we won't need them ultimately, but it's one of those things where we'll be very glad we have them if we do.
On the upside, this means Sam can get to his team's soccer match Saturday morning, and maybe both of Zack's on the weekend if we twist his arm a little.
And he can go to the Paly v. Gunn football game on Saturday night (district rival).
